Appointment FAQs
Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist?
In many states, you can see a physical therapist through direct access without a physician referral. However, some insurance plans may require a referral for coverage. Our front office team will verify your insurance benefits and let you know whether a referral is needed. We can coordinate with your physician if a referral is required.
How long is a typical physical therapy session?
Initial evaluations typically last forty-five to sixty minutes, during which your therapist will assess your condition, discuss your goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan. Follow-up treatment sessions are usually thirty to forty-five minutes long. We always spend one-on-one time with each patient rather than supervising multiple patients simultaneously.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. Athletic wear such as shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers works well for most therapy sessions. Avoid restrictive clothing, belts, and jewelry near the treatment area. We have private treatment rooms available if you need to change clothes when you arrive.
Does physical therapy accept insurance?
Yes, we are in-network providers with most major insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Medicare. Our billing team handles all insurance claims and pre-authorizations on your behalf. We also offer affordable self-pay rates and payment plans for patients without insurance coverage.
Experiencing Severe Pain or a New Injury?
If you're in severe pain or have experienced a traumatic injury, please visit your nearest emergency room or call 911. For urgent physical therapy needs, call us directly and we'll do our best to see you the same week.
